Privacy Policy
Effective September 15, 2026. This Privacy Policy describes the You Can’t Leave film website at youcantleavemovie.com, operated by Guilder Cinema Group. It covers information that this website collects, not the separate websites and apps linked from it.
Privacy information we collect
When you choose to sign up for film updates, we record the email address you enter and the date and time of your consent in our WordPress database. We also record whether we sent that address to an email provider. Providing an email address is optional, but you need one if you want updates.
To limit automated signup attempts, the site temporarily counts requests using a salted hash derived from the requesting IP address. The signup table does not store visitor IP addresses. Our web host may separately process IP addresses, browser details, request times and similar information in ordinary security and server logs. WordPress uses cookies for staff who sign in to administer the site. The public film page does not require an account.
How this Privacy Policy uses information
Therefore, we use signup records to manage the film updates you requested, document consent, prevent abuse and respond to your privacy requests. We do not use the signup form to sell email addresses or share them for targeted advertising. This site currently has no targeted-advertising system. If these practices change, we will update this notice and the relevant privacy controls before enabling the new activity.
Privacy Policy service providers and outside sites
For example, authorized Guilder Cinema Group staff and service providers that host or operate the website may access information needed for those tasks. We have not connected Mailchimp yet. If we connect a Mailchimp audience, we will send consented email addresses there as pending confirmation; the local WordPress consent record will remain. Mailchimp would then process those addresses under its own privacy notice. We will review our email workflow before sending campaigns.
In addition, the site links to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X. Trailer playback opens a YouTube player only after you choose to play a video. Those services may collect information when you visit or interact with them. Their privacy practices are separate from ours. This film website does not process ticket purchases.
Retention and security
For this reason, we keep a signup record while it is needed to manage film updates and consent, unless you request deletion or we must keep information for a legal or security reason. There is currently no automatic expiration date for local signup records. Hosting logs and, if later connected, Mailchimp records may have different retention practices. We limit administrative access and use reasonable technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy choices and requests
First, you can decline the signup form or withdraw from film updates at any time by contacting us. You may ask to see, correct or delete the signup information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. If applicable, you may also ask us to review a decision about a privacy request. We may need to verify that a request relates to your email address before acting. If your address has been sent to Mailchimp, we will address the separate provider record as appropriate.
Also, we do not discriminate against people for exercising privacy rights protected by applicable law.
Privacy Policy updates
Finally, we may update this Privacy Policy when the website, providers or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date above when we publish an update. .
